Rural/Metro’s East Zone operations currently provide private 911-emergency and interfacility ambulance transportation services in New York, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky, with plans for future expansion throughout the region.

Our 2,200 East Zone employees provide ambulance transportation services 24 hours a day to our growing base of customers throughout region, providing more than 300,000 ambulance transports annually.

  • 911 Emergency Ambulance Services: We are the exclusive provider of 911 emergency ambulance services in major cities and counties through the Eastern U.S., including the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, New York; Indianapolis, Indiana; Youngstown, Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio; Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky – just to name a few.
  • Interfacility Ambulance Services: From large hospital networks and healthcare systems to skilled nursing facilities dotted throughout our service areas, we are the trusted ambulance provider that healthcare professionals turn to for their patient transportation needs. With more than half of our patients requiring interfacility transportation on a non-emergency basis, we are experts at ensuring our customers’ needs are met.
  • Special Event Ambulance Services:  Rural/Metro is known locally and nationally for our ability to coordinate multiple large-scale events where specialized ambulance services are needed. Our ambulance standby services are provided under long-term contracts with large sporting venues such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for year-round motorsports, as well as major professional and amateur sporting events nationwide such as football, baseball, basketball and hockey.
